Welcome to the website of Critique South
a tutorial group
dedicated
to learning about Photographic Critique technique.
Wanaka Art Main Site Click here
(This site has been built by Roger Urlwin APSNZ to encourage interest in
photographic critique through easy and fun participation
in virtual judging sessions. The site is not public access and only
available from a provided link.)
Why learn to Critique?
Simple.. The better you understand the essential components of an
image, the better you will be at making them.
Often folk look at an image and have no idea of the function of
compositional elements that are attracting them to it.
The purpose of this site is to provide an environment that allows
members to learn the importance of critique and
enhance their ability to recognise photographic techniques that make
strong images.
Of course it would be good if you find this a fun and enjoyable process
and go on to become a PSNZ Panel Judge
How does this site work?
Sorry this part is not operative at present but may return some time in
the future.
Please contact Roger for further info.
On this site you will find comment and advice from a range of
experienced photographers and judges.
Study the side tabs and learn what others think about this
subject.
Once a month a "virtual Competition" will be put up
containing various images that you will be asked to comment
on and star rate 1...5.
Click the side tab "How to make comments" to learn how to
do this.
After all the comments are made the images will be critiqued by an
experienced guest judge and these comments will be
posted to the site.
You will be emailed and can then return to the site to compare
your comments with the Guest Judge.
You are invited to discuss comments with other group members and
of course Roger by email.
Please read "The Group Rules" side
tab
This is important information on how to join and how we function.
